Let It Snow...

Lucy here. Me and mum haven't updated for a while due to being sooo busy, so I thought i'd make a quick post about the snow.

First of all, like the new layout? I made it a couple of days ago. But don't worry, you can still view our previous layout soon, as we will have a page dedicated to it.

Secondly, I have a day off school today due to the snow. We let our cat, Henry, outside to explore the snow and it was up to his little knees! I don't blame him for rushing straight back inside when he realised it was cold!

Just a little thank you.....

We're famous for our muffins here. Our (and apparently everyone else's!!) favourites include Strawberry and White Chocolate, Raspberry and Almond. Double Chocolate and last but not least Banana and White Chocolate.

Our mechanic did a rush job for me on Tuesday when my fan belt needed an urgent replacement. So as a little thank you, I took across a plate of Raspberry and White Chocolate (no almonds in the cupboard, lol) and Banana and White Chocolate muffins.

That was 35 minutes ago. They're already all gone. :-)

Now we just have to decide what to do with the other 30 muffins that are left. After all , you can't bake just a few muffins, can you........??

Cooking today - 18 Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffins, 18 Banana and White Chocolate Muffins, Roast Chicken dinner, Chicken stock.

We had great fun carving this pumpkin today - I'd forgotten how slippery and sticky they are!! It will be great for the Halloween party that we're going to tomorrow.

Dad's Birthday

Hey everyone, it's Lucy (mum's favourite daughter, of course). Today it's dad's birthday so me and mum have been busy making trifles, buying ingredients, sorting our cards, browsing through catalogues and tons more. Dad stayed over at his friend's house last night after a boozy night out, so me and mum were up until stupid o'clock in the morning printing off cards and wrapping presents- we're exhausted! I made Dad a customised card on the laptop and also several bookmarks as he's always needing more! When he saw the card his face lit up and he told me how great it was- he was so elated! Then he saw the bookmarks and I could tell that he was pleased as he's using one already. Me and Mum will be putting the finishing touches to his trifle soon, so no doubt there will be an empty bowl! :-)

Spooooky Cooooking...

As well as making cupcakes and muffins, we also have been making some spooky muffins for halloween! The moulds were only about £2 each from Sainsburys, but sadly I didn't get the definition on the character's faces as I'd hoped. But at least they still tasted great!

Dave's Birthday Cakes

As is tradition, Dave always takes in cakes to celebrate his birthday at work. Seeing as I love baking, I refuse to buy these, so today we've spent making a selection of iced cupcakes, chocolate muffins and banana and white chocolate muffins. The recipe will be posted ASAP.
